ABOUT THE ROLE:

The JIRA Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining automation workflows in JIRA. This role builds and deploys servers and applications, develops plugins to extend JIRA capabilities, configures custom fields, supports JIRA configurations that include all client requirements, create custom preset filters, test outcomes, and identify defects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you'll get to...

  • develop customer interaction solutions using JIRA, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools

  • work with broad technologies: XML, JSP, REST, JSON, JDBC and relational databases

  • work with Source Control systems including Subversion and TFS

  • deploy and manage complex Atlassian and ancillary product implementations onto staging and production environments

  • assist in client requirement gathering, process analysis, deployment and user acceptance testing

  • proactively work with peers, key business stakeholders in understanding business needs and recommend solutions

  • provide documented solution guidance and recommendations as required

  • work as part of team to complete configuration and testing of product implementations

  • prioritize assignments and work independently and/or as part of small team

  • create and maintain data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data naming standards, and metadata standards

  • develop and implement standards and processes for ensuring data quality

  • participate in ETL design, strategy and associated processes

  • stay current on assessments of technology for the business

  • perform other duties as needed by the role

REQUIREMENTS:

On day one, we'll expect you to ...

  • have 5 years minimum proven experience with software development, technology management and delivery, and/or IT operations

  • have 3 years of experience working in JIRA and ATLASSIAN environments

  • create, configure, and customize JIRA projects, workflows, screen schemes, custom fields, permission schemes and notification schemes to meet business needs

  • have a strong knowledge of JQL commands

  • have data migration experience (e.g.: migrating data from other sources into JIRA)

  • have working knowledge of software version control systems such as Subversion or TFS

  • have solid knowledge in Agile Development Principles and Team Software Development

  • have solid knowledge in Test Case development and test management

  • have solid working knowledge of ITSM best practices such as ITIL service activities related to release management and testing activities

  • have solid understanding of Agile Kanban/Scrum concepts, protocols, and best practices

  • have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions

  • have excellent oral and written communications skills

  • have a fully functional and up-to-date computer with which to perform duties

  • be willing to install next-generation endpoint protection on the computer

  • be a current resident of the Philippines and can perform work from there
  • be open to a full-time, contract opportunity
  • be willing to work during US Pacific timezone (8am - 5pm PST, 12AM - 9AM Manila time) or during client hours as required

What separates the best from the rest:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

  • a strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle)
